Course Description:

Provides a practical introduction to both positive displacement and centrifugal pumps form a hydraulic design viewpoint and their applications in different markets. Additionally, the course all the common type of pumps and how to best select the right pump, troubleshooting basics and the best methods to maintain them for longer life and higher productivity. It also provides basic level in the engineering math and principle in pump technologies.

Course learning objectives for both Positive Displacement and Centrifugal Pumps:

  • Identify common pump types and their components
  • Understand the pump, associated components, hydraulic and general pump terminology
  • Select the most appropriate pump type, make and model for any application
  • Be competent in reading and using pump performance curves
  • Understand cavitation and how to prevent it from occurring
  • Specify the correct installation configuration for a particular pump type
  • Install, Commission, operate and maintain common pump types
  • Troubleshoot pump problems

This course is designed maintenance technicians, supervisors, operators and management personnel who need to get an in-depth general review on the wide of range of pumps, but may not have an engineering background. This course will cover all type of pumps used in the industrial sectors
